NIOZ – Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research

NIOZ is the national oceanographic institute of the Netherlands. They conduct fundamental and applied research into marine ecosystems, climate change, biodiversity and seabed processes. NIOZ provides scientific expertise on the ecology and dynamics of the North Sea. They contribute to the substantive programme and ensure the connection between fundamental research and policy issues.

RWS – Rijkswaterstaat

Rijkswaterstaat is part of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and is responsible for the management of the Dutch infrastructure, including the North Sea. RWS is often the main organizer and coordinates the logistics, communication and policy approach of the event. They bring together policymakers, managers and users of the North Sea.

WMR – Wageningen Marine Research

WMR is part of Wageningen University & Research and focuses on applied marine ecological research, fisheries management and nature conservation. WMR provides substantive contributions on biodiversity, fisheries and nature management. They organize workshops and present research results that are relevant to sustainable use of the North Sea

TNO – Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research

TNO is an independent research institute that develops innovative solutions for societal challenges, including energy, climate and marine technology. TNO contributes technological and policy insights, for example on offshore energy, emissions and monitoring. They provide the bridge between science, industry and policy.

Deltares – Institute for Applied Water and Subsurface Research

Deltares is an independent knowledge institute that focuses on water, subsurface and infrastructure. They combine data, models and practical knowledge. Deltares contributes with expertise on coastal development, sea level rise, sediment flows and systems thinking in the North Sea. They also help with the organization and communication.
